Silverbell Road - Ina to Grant Road

In Design

El Camino del Cerro to Goret Road is currently in design.

Improvements include widening Silverbell Road to a curbed four-lane divided desert parkway with pedestrian facilities, bike lanes, lighting, drainage improvements, new native landscaping, and public art.

Although the design will be moving forward, there will be an 18-month to 2-year-period before construction begins on this segment to allow for the planning and excavation of cultural resources.  Pima County and the City of Tucson will be working together on this very important aspect of the Silverbell Corridor.

60% Design Open House was held November 14, 2016.

A final design open house will be held in advance of construction.

The Regional Transportation Authority, a political subdivision of the state and independently governed, has invested more than $1.2 billion in transportation projects and services to improve mobility, safety, economic vitality and quality of life in the region. The RTA collects a half-cent excise (sales) tax from its special taxing district within Pima County to fund its 20-year regional transportation plan. The plan and tax were approved by voters in May 2006. The Silverbell Road project is part of the RTA plan and is managed by the City of Tucson in conjunction with the Town of Marana and Pima County.
